So not only this week have I said goodbye to a 7 year old friend, Google Chrome, but now I have officially said goodbye to a longer - 13 year old - friend, Windows XP.
Yes, I have finally took the jump and moved away from XP, well on my main laptop that is. My computer still happily runs Windows 2000 (NOT Windows ME - don't get confused, one's good one shite) and my other 3 laptops run Windows XP too.

Ok, so as many people will know I am still a happy bunny using Windows XP on my laptop - there are countless reasons for this, mainly the fact it was probably the best operating system to be released from Microsoft's lair. However with XP's support soon to be running out, I think I may have to either stick with XP forever and just find a few "underground" places for future patches (or the so-called Windows XP SP4*) or get slightly with the times and upgrade.

I myself have just came across this problem on my laptop. I decided to update my BIOS by flashing it and at first I thought "Ahhh, this seems all fine", it did it and rebooted automatically. I thought "Well that was quick and easy". The BIOS loading screen came up, then I saw the Windows XP loading screen, then boom. The wonderful quick glimpse of the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). I tried in Safe Mode, nothing. Last Known Good Configuration, nothing. That was it... I was balls'd.

Microsoft Windows 7 has already been released as a Beta version recently and the Release Candidate version is rumoured to be due around May time. Now it doesn't seem all that long ago that I remember my Father showing me Microsoft Windows XP and I was well excited! The way the screen faded to grey when you clicked the Shut Down option.
