If you've upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8 and you find that a lot of your harddrive space has been used up, don't worry too much as it's not Windows 10 itself that's packed it out.
When you upgrade, Windows keeps a backup copy of your previous OS to allow you to revert back to it if you're not happy with Windows 10 - however this is only valid for up to a month after you upgrade. Now this backup doesn't exactly come in at a small size as you... [read more]

So not only this week have I said goodbye to a 7 year old friend, Google Chrome, but now I have officially said goodbye to a longer - 13 year old - friend, Windows XP.
Yes, I have finally took the jump and moved away from XP, well on my main laptop that is. My computer still happily runs Windows 2000 (NOT Windows ME - don't get confused, one's good one shite) and my other 3 laptops run Windows XP too.
So why did I change? Well I do love XP and without a doubt, it was the best... [read more]

Ok, so as many people will know I am still a happy bunny using Windows XP on my laptop - there are countless reasons for this, mainly the fact it was probably the best operating system to be released from Microsoft's lair. If you're playing Chris Sawyer's excellent game, Locomotion on Windows Vista or Windows 7, then you may experience after a minute or so ingame, that all the colours go all purple and green. Don't worry though, don't uninstall the game or chuck it away - you can still play it!
The problem is caused by the way Windows Vista and Windows 7 deliver the colour palette and if (like many) you have an image or a slideshow desktop background, then this is what's causing your problem. All you need to do is right-click on the desktop and select "Personalize", then just... [read more]

Microsoft Windows 7 has already been released as a Beta version recently and the Release Candidate version is rumoured to be due around May time. Now it doesn't seem all that long ago that I remember my Father showing me Microsoft Windows XP and I was well excited! The way the screen faded to grey when you clicked the Shut Down option. It was all amazing. Now we've had Windows XP, Windows Vista and coming soon Windows 7 - also with Microsoft Windows 8 in the pipeline - I thought I'd have a little trip down memory lane and have...
