It's now been two and a half weeks since I finally had the bar in my chest removed and I thought I may aswell give everyone an update as to how everything's going.
The cuts at the moment are still tender on both sides, the right-hand side isn't too bad and the swelling has gone down on it a lot, however the left-hand side is still fairly swollen and quite painful to touch or when my arm rubs against it. Well yesterday I had the delight of visiting BBC Coventry & Warwickshire for a radio interview with the lovely Annie Othen about my Pectus Excavatum. Well what an interesting day!
Firstly, I received a call this afternoon from the producer on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire after she had emailed me through my blog (*yay*) asking if I was happy for an interview about my current ordeal with my operation. Obviously at first glance of the email I was fairly nervous (and shocked), but I replied with my contact details and she called me to confirm a few details and originally wished for me to come in on Monday 4th March for the 11am slot. What a mad day for the weather! London is basking in sunshine - many people on the social media sites are saying how much they're enjoying sunbatheing - however for the majority of the country "up north" from the Big Smoke have been having a mad day of heavy rain, flash flooding, hail, high winds and tornadoes... and to think it's only the afternoon.
This morning I ended up getting my referral form from the nurse practitioner. I was hoping I could goto the hospital in Leicester (as I've heard good reviews about it there for the Nuss Procedure) but sadly my choices were either the University Hospital of Coventry and Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham.
