Through The Dragon's Eye

Through The Dragon's Eye

If someone asked me to name one thing I remember from first school, it would have to be a TV programme we all had to gather for, sit on the cold varnished floor - with legs crossed too, called Through The Dragon's Eye.

It was part of BBC Two's "Look and Read" educational type of programmes, and this one was the best of the bunch. It starts with three kids (Amanda, Jenny and Scott) who have painted onto a wall in their school playground a scenic landscape and a dragon. As soon as Jenny adds... [read more]

Can You Be Afraid Of Black People?

Can You Be Afraid Of Black People?

Firstly, I'll start this article with a couple of warnings...

This article CONTAINS some terms which others may find OFFENSIVE (they're being used in the correct context for this article [uncensored]).

This article is NOT in support of racism.

This article is NOT defending a UK councillor, this is merely a general thought that arose in light of recent events.

That's that bit out the way, so, as I've just said "this is merely a general thought" which popped into my head this morning when I was listening to the radio and it made me... [read more]

dhIMG Twitter v1.2 Released

VERSION 1.6 NOW RELEASED

dhIMG TwitterdhIMG Twitter has been updated to now include the downloading of animated files too (usually what you upload as a GIF, then gets converted on Twitter's server and shown as an MP4 file - mainly because it's much quicker to deliver and smaller in size too).

Changes in v1.2

» Images download in their original resolution
» Animated GIF/MP4 files now download
» Couple of bugs fixed

Note

I have been having a load of people contacting me to ask if the "Max Images" dropdown can be higher than 1,000. I have looked... [read more]

Atherstone Ball Game 2015

Atherstone Ball Game

For the first time in over a decade, this has been my first year of not actually being in Atherstone for their annual Shrovetide Ball Game (or "Atherstone Ball Game" or more commonly known as "Ball Game"), so I've had to rely on social media to know what's happening.

Now, for those of you that don't know where Atherstone is (be it if you're within the UK or from some foreign land), it's a small town (in England) situated along the A5 between Tamworth and Nuneaton... it's in the Coventry postal district (CV9) and within the county... [read more]

Verified On Twitter

I bet I'm not the only one that has sat and thought how crazy your notifications on Twitter must go if you're being followed by millions of people (i.e; Gaga, Perry, Bieber, 1D, etc.), not only that, but how would you see, let's say, a tweet from a radio DJ amongst the thousands that're bombarding you at any one time?

Well. I've done my usual bit of snooping - as I usually like to do - and have found what I believe is what anyone verified on Twitter gets in their notifications section. (Now I've came across this on the official... [read more]

Twitter Game: Guess The Song (Answers)

Last year on Twitter, I started to randomly tweet little puzzles for my followers to play along with, which they did receive a good reception. The main one I used to play was #SWYS ("Say What You See"), where I'd post a picture that has various items on it and you have to guess what the word is. (For example: I'll post a picture of a muscle man, next to an image of a bow and arrow ... and the answer would be? Yes, the cider drink, Strongbow). Besides the Say What You See games, I also did try a... [read more]

Bye Old Theme And Hello Responsiveness

I have decided to get with the times and update my site from the original grey and dull looking theme that seems alright on desktops, laptops and tablets and make a more "modern" looking theme which is also responsive too, so that if you're viewing on a mobile phone or any other small screen, it'll fit nicely and save you from having to pinch-and-zoom on every page.

So, it's a goodbye from this:

And, hello to this:

Also, there may be the odd few problems that may occur around the site because of the change in style, but if you do... [read more]

All The Hashtags For Bebo

Bebo

Bebo relaunched recently and it is no longer the social network site it used to be - which was once full of crappy games in Iframes, awfully sized pictures and loads of glittery sparkly love heart GIFs along with messages of "ur mi bby luke luv u 4eva n eva luv destiny xxxxxxxxxxxx" ... ugh.

It's now just another messaging app (like WhatsApp or KiK or Facebook's Messenger or that one that everyone seems to have forgot about... you know... where you can send each other a message... yes, that's the one, plain bog-standard SMS Messaging). However Bebo have... [read more]

Project: UK METAR Weather Overview

If you're someone who knows me well enough, you'd know I have an interest with the weather (and to some extent other natural disasters too), so yesterday I got bored and usually when I get bored random ideas pop into my head, and one did so, of which I think would be of use to a majority of the online UK WX scene. Ok, so maybe not so at this time of year, but definitely during the year it may be quite handy.

The main reason this idea popped into my head, was because earlier this year when various storms were... [read more]

BT Advert Con

BT Advert Con

The past couple of weeks when watching the odd few things on TV, I've noticed another advert from BT - you know the ones, the storyline type ones with those two lads and a woman. Well, in this advert the lads had a mate around watching Breaking Bad on Netflix, and says:

Lad 1: "Well we did it"
Lad 2: "Two days solid"
Mate: "Yep"
Lad 1: "Breaking Bad, done!"

That immediately got me gobbing off to myself (as I wasn't around other people when I first watched the advert *starts playing All By Myself*), the reason for me gobbing off... [read more]
