Rehab Detox Day 13

Saturday, it is the weekend so not much in the way of groups now. I woke up pretty much as the alarm went off this morning, so was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 7am. Had the morning meeting, a few fags and coffees and breakfast.

After breakfast we headed to the Centre for the first of two groups. The first consisted of individually picking out a random piece of laminated paper with a word on it from an envelope and then explain what it means to/for us, then we repeated this another two times and when... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 12

Well, Friday, it did not start the best. I woke up four times during the night pissing myself (not laughing, but urinating), so I am glad I still have enough adult nappies to hand. So due to the interrupted sleep, I did end up accidentally missing the morning meeting by 15 minutes.

After breakfast we headed to the Centre to start the day with a P&D session - what a session to start the day on. As usual, it was very deep and as it was to be my last one, I opened up even... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 11

Well, thank goodness for these adult nappies, I woke up having had an accident at a daft time in the morning, was not sure what the actual time was because it was pitch black and I did not wish to wake the other person in my room by turning the light on to check the clock).

First group of the day was 'Change of Objectives' (we're set certain goals to do the previous week, and should try to fulfil them - I did all but one of mine). This is a group that a majority... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 10

Another day waking up sober and without any withdrawal symptoms, no problems sleeping and feeling really greatful of the chance I have been given to make myself so much better.

It is Wednesday, so i will be calling The Mother later on. There is still a lot of uncertainty regarding the whole move malarkey and also what happens when I leave, some things are in place but not really set in stone. I think we're just going with the scenario that I will be in Weston-super-Mare, so a day programme will be what I will... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 9

7am trying to lift myself out of bed, well that was a mission in itself. My ribs (left side) were a 7/10 on the painscale, so I decided to roll out of bed instead. It was the only way I could get up for the morning meeting at 7:30am.

Had the morning meeting and breakfast along with meds, I did mention about the pain to the staff. They advised me that I see the doctor, so we went to the Centre and had a visit from a gentleman that spoke to us that came from... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 8

Monday morning - a whole week of being sober! Who the fudge would have thought I would ever do that!

How do I feel, you may ask? Well, extremely pleased with myself and I feel weirdly different. I am eating properly and have made a great circle of friends. So all in all is going great.

Now it is one week into my detox programme that now means I can get a phone card to call The Mother, which I will be doing later on. I will no doubt get emotional over hearing her voice for... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 7

So it is a Sunday and I am awake at 7am - wake up on a Sunday is usually 8am, but my body clock was so used to the 7am wake ups. Breakfast was lovely this morning - scrambled eggs and toast, and yes, I did coat mine in Marmite.

After breakfast I had my medication and then headed off to Church. It was much more lively than the normal church services we do in this country, which was a relief. (I do believe I did also let out a bop or two to a... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 6

Woke in the night after almost having an accident - so I informed the staff when medication was being given out. They said that it was perfectly OK and that they will find something for me. The staff know about it, plus one other does too, they assured me it is nothing to be ashamed of... support like that really helps me feel comfortable.

After breakfast and meds we went to the Centre to begin our morning group session, which included picking a topic at random from a basket and discussing it. Afterwards was a... [read more]

Rehab Detox Day 5

Woke up to our morning meeting, breakfast and medication.

We left for the Centre and had our Thoughts and Feelings session, which was a nice way to start things off - by knowing how everyone is doing. Following that we had quite a deep session - one that I personally didn't feel comfortable being in. I didn't participate vocally much though because it was a bit too much for me to digest (and as I couldn't really relate on a personal level, I felt a bit out of place). You could tell the mood of... Rehab Detox Day 4

Fourth day in and I am still feeling amazing that I am waking up sober and not having any shaking to contend to. The only issue I am currently having at the moment though is a slight pain in my right kidney and also my neck feels stiff, although I have been assured by the staff that this is normal coming off the alcohol.

After breakfast it was medication time and I am now on a lower dose (4L, 4V). Following breakfast we went to the centre to begin our sessions for the day. The... [read more]
