Increment Games

I don't really play many games these days, mainly because none of the equipment I own is powerful enough to play the games and they're not as fun these days either where more time and effort have been put into the graphics than the game play itself (give me [PSX era] Spyro The Dragon, Crash Bandicoot or Tombi anyday!)

These days when I do play a game, it's usually some sort of boring - yet addictive - increment game (like Cookie Clicker or AdCap!). Simple games that you can spend about 5 minutes a day catching up with and don't really have an end goal. I do enjoy playing these types of games and have come up with a little list of the ones I play, incase you're bored and have a spare few minutes each day to have a click here and there. They all work fine in your desktop web browser - I've yet to try them on a mobile browser though.

Happy playing/clicking/getting rich...

Reactor Game

Reactor Game

You start on a small island and your job is to gain money from selling power that's generated from various structures (wind farms, solar panels, coal, oil, etc.) When using the larger buildings to generate power, you will need to make sure the heat generated from them doesn't hit a certain level otherwise *boom* goes your power plant.

Swarm Simulator

Swarm Simulator

Starting with some meat and some larvae, you build your swarm of bugs starting from a Drone, to Queen, Nest, Greater Queen, etc. Expanding your territory allows for extra bugs, energy is for power-ups and Mutagens are for when you 'reset' the game and you're then giving bonuses (like the 'Angels reset' in the iOS game AdCap!)

Mine Defense

Mine Defense

If you're a fan of lovely graphics, then you'd probably give this one a miss, but Mine Defense is your bog-standard click-to-earn game. All you do is just keep clicking on the gold mine, there's also extras that you can buy with the gold like animals in the 'for hire' section that automatically get you gold every second.

Shark Game: Strange Oceans

Shark Game: Strange Oceans

You're a shark. You must catch fish (clicking the 'Catch fish' button), then with the fish you have caught, you go on to recruit other creatures that reward you with more fish, sand, crystals, etc.

BASIC

BASIC

This game is aptly named. BASIC. Game play? Basic. Just keep upgrading the rows and increasing your money. The game, like the others listed above, runs whilst you're not on the website, so waking up in the morning will see you with a nice healthy bank balance.

CityInc

CityInc

This game is visually the best I've seen and not only is the game play just like most increment games, but it also has an added extra (which you can see below) where you can buy items with the money you're earning and build your 'city'. Depending on how you build your city will have an impact on the citizens. If they're unhappy, you earn less money.

Pixel This

Pixel This

OK, so this isn't really a click-n-earn type of game, but it does help pass some time. You're presented with an image that's covered by black. You just have to use your mouse cursor to go over the image to remove the black pixels. It takes a lot of effort to get anywhere near completion, but as I said, it helps to pass the time.
