Flattr this

It seems we're in the middle of some hecktic weather, which isn't exactly rare for June - or any of the late-Spring/early-Summer time to be honest as most of the time, especially with strong winds, they're storm systems that have travelled from the US to the UK with help from the Jet Stream and are usually pretty low in pressure (causing the isobars to be tighter and making it more windy). At the moment most of the South of the UK (anything basically Scotland downwards) is being hit with strong gusts of wind. I'm based in the Midlands and every now and then we're getting some Satanic roars coming through our extractor fans.

With this wind there are obvious weather warnings in force and to be honest, they should be taken seriously as some towns and cities have reported 13-15 trees being uprooted already. Now being hit on the head with a conker hurts, let alone something thousands-of-times bigger and heavier just crashing onto you. Lucky I don't believe anyone has been injured yet by the falling trees.

Below are some pictures I've found that people have posted online.
